This time I've made sure they were straight and horizontal like and not a 90 angle.

Those are fine but some are a little dark on my monitor.You might also like to try some lower angles next time ,and ,as someone else said, keep in close.I think it adds more interest if you see the car looking up at it slightly.
Always good to see different vehicles.

I'm always sticking to the rule of thirds though?

So when it comes to cars rules of thirds are out?

My mother has taught me to shoot the rules of third.

By the way it was really dark out "storming out that day" but only rained a little bit.

Sometimes you need to just look at the image and ask yourself "is that really an appealing part of the image". Maybe instead of having a vertically oriented shot you could have included more of the house? Also with cars it isn't bad to just get right up in their face and have it take up the whole frame.

I agree all but the last are a bit to dark, and in the second one it almost looks like you desaturated the image and tried to make the cones stand out? Nothing a little PP can't take care of though, overall nice set of photos!

Good that you learned it. But as JHew84 said, now you get to stop using it for everything & use your brain too.
Maybe you could have shot it at a different angle, or a horizontal, but when all else fails, crop the crap out. A bonus is that if someone tries to print your image, it won't fit on any standard paper.
