I remember seeing a neck strap that was for having two bodies on one strap but can't seem to find it again. I'm not sure if it was on this forum or just browsing the net. Anyone got any ideas?

I have been using an OpTech Pro for about 5 years. Mine has a second set of quick-connects up high for a second camera or binocs. However, I notice that the current item does not show the second set of QCs.

Never used the second connection. Always thought it would be too awkward.

I am using the lowepro neckstrap with quick releases. I liek it because it has a memory card holder built in the neckstrap i slap two extra cards in and quick release it and stick it on my other body with another lens and go.

Optech Reporter Strap

http://www.adorama.com …html?sid=1222126334917024 (external link)

This strap works great and can be used with either one or two cameras with quick disconnects. The neoprene makes carrying the load easier. If you do use two cameras on this strap, I recommend attaching the camera with the physically longer lens on the bottom and the camera with the physically longer lens on the top attachment.

However, my standard two camera setup is a 40D with the 17-55mm lens on the strap and a 30D with a 70-200mm f/4L IS lens in a holster case at my left hip.

The 70-200mm lens is equipped with a hand strap and also a screw-in round lens hood in lieu of the OEM hood and an Optech Hood Hat in lieu of a lens cap. It is very fast and easy to reach into the holster, withdraw the camera by the hand strap, remove the Hood Hat and begin shooting. It is a lot quicker and less complicated to do than to describe how it is done.

My wife has sewn Velcro tabs on my shooting vest which prevents the holster case strap from sliding off my shoulder. Using the camera with this long lens in a holster case prevents it from swinging around if I am moving fast and provides maximum protection for both camera and telephoto lens. It also gets the weight off of my neck.

The round lens hood makes it more convenient to withdraw from the holster than using the OEM hood. It doesn't vignette at any focal length using a 1.6x camera and it protects the lens from flare and physical damage as well, if not better, than the OEM hood.

I fell climbing a slippery slope in Alaska this July (it was a very rainy July in our 49th State) The lens hit first and my jaw hit the camera. I broke the top LCD on the camera and the lens hood broke - but the lens was not damaged in any way, I lost a six buck lens hood but saved a thousand dollar lens (BTW I did not have a protective filter on the lens). The hood protected it from damage.

I use the Optech Reporter strap when I need a wider lens than the 17-55mm and then I use that lens in conjunction with my 12-24mm f/4 Tokina ATX.
