I've got a hummingbird that has been a pretty regular visitor the last few days, well tonight I got out there without managing to scare her off. In the low light I had a hard time getting the wings but I managed to lighten it up some in PP. I need to get PS or something similar so I can clone out things like the fence but overall I'm pleased considering my experience level right now. C&C welcome, and if anyone has a few moments and wants to get rid of the fence.

Taken at f2.8 1/1250 for the first two.

Those little suckers are hard to keep focused at 2.8, I had to turn the AF off just to keep it how I wanted.

Nice captures. I would not worry too much about trying to freeze the wing motion in low light, but concentrate more on lighting. Also, I do not think that using Photoshop or any other program to clone out things is not nearly as important as some folks make it appear to be. In my opinion, the less "diddling" that one does to make an image "presentable", the better it will normally be. I think that some of the best things about Photoshop (besides ACR and RAW files) are the noise filtering and sharpening techniques.

These little guys will get used to you if you have time to sit there. You need to get closer. These shots are taken in low light albeit will a 400mm lens, but I am sitting in a chair blind about 11 feet from the humming bird. These are not cropped at all. Your 70- 200 would work very well here.

Get closer, crop big and that fence won't matter. :) Some of these with the flowers are pretty nice as is though.
