So, if all that's true, will this new he-res screen only add to this phenomenon?

Hmmmm... well, it certainly wouldn't lessen the act of "chimping"

I suppose I'm as guilty of chimping as anyone:oops:

If the image you see is still a crappy JPG of a 21mp RAW, I dont think its going to matter ;)

Well, the idea I was forming in my mind was that with the newer high res screen fully zoomed in, you'd actually be looking at a fairy accurate representation of what's there and now have a real tool for checking focus instead of just gawking at a "crappy jpeg". ;)

This new screen might give chimpers everywhere some new found respect?! :D

Cheers! :)

bah! bugger chimping... i can watch divx downloads on the plane now instead of on my epson p5000

oh maybe not - ill probably need that p5000 to save those 21MP shots from the 5d2

It is a great tool to ease the minds of clients and to make them feel better.. After I get as shot I know will be a keeper I show it to them, especially for women. I say look how great you or that looks and the rest of the shoot always goes better. So you purists who don't like it can tape over the back.

Canon "Snappy".... Thanks Mom and Dad!
