A few more candids

Would love to know if these shots look interesting to anyone. I have been looking at them for three days now ... need another opinion.

These folks take over this dock almost on a daily basis. They kind of "set up house" as you can see. Lately they have been pulling in bullheads left and right.

These must not be rattling anyone's photogenic creative nerve endings These people are always out there, so I think I might give it another try. Any suggestions?

These feel a bit like surveillance shots to me. They just feel like they are there, without really having anything to draw in the viewer or make you want to keep looking. If you can reshoot, do, and try to find some really compelling compositions. At the same time, I think they would be helped out by being a touch sharper. I think you have the right idea, these look like interesting people, and I think they could make very interesting images. Can you go down and interact with them at all? Close up portraits would probably be a lot more powerful.

Hi Debi. The one of the man would be a little nicer if you had a bit more of his face in the photo. The first one of the lady has a lot going on, is a bit distant, and looks soft to me. Seeing the lady with a cancer stick hanging out of her mouth is really quite a turn off to me, too... but I think a little closer in might be more interesting.

I think Alex posted while I was composing and looks like we had similar ideas.

Tighter crop on number one, more face on number 2, tighter crop and more face on 3. I think you have enough to work with on 1 and 3. PS Elements has much of the needed elements of Photoshop so don't feel under powered at this point. Look for some visual tension to draw a viewer in, sometimes this means limiting what the viewer can or should see.
