Hi everyone,

I'm sorry that this is another filter question. I have searched this forum (and other fora as wel) but have not found a satisfactory answer to this question:

If I want to use graduated neutral density filters, which one should I get? I am looking at the following specifics:

Hard/Soft
0.3, 0.6, 0.9
Screw on/Filter holder

I am considering a 0.6 soft and a 0.9 hard. Both with a filter holder, to be able to place the filter on the right horizon level, without this effecting my composition.

What do you guys think? Good idea or not? And which brand should I choose (I like good optical quality)?

Thank you very much! This forum has given me so much advice on equipment already!

Hitech or LEE.

I have Hitech [1.2 both soft and hard edge, 0.9 also both, 0.6 soft and 0.3 soft] GND filters.

I use Z-pro holder with Cokin ring adapter wide angle 77mm, but i ordered LEE holder with ring adapter.

I think you did the right starting choice, 0.6soft and 0.9hard.

The Lee adapter WA ring and holder are fantastic, and so are the hitech filters. a great pairing as they compliment each other nicely:)

I would recommend the Lee setup myself. It's really made well. If you're conscious of budget, than I would recommend the Hitech filters. If you wanna go all out, I'd go for Lee and Singh Ray.

Oh ok. No problem. I also ordered a whole new set of Galen Rowell soft and hard filters too.
