These were taken about a month ago at my very first model shoot. We rented some strobes and started messing around. I have some general knowledge when it comes to lighting but definitely have a LOT to learn.

Here are 3 of my favorites from that night.

I'd love to hear your comments on these.

NOTE. #3 may be construed as not safe for work. She's topless with her back turned to the camera.

Thanks!

I'm no expert but these shots are pretty nice and sharp. Especially the 2nd one.

They're great shots... but she needs a little direction I think... The second one is almost sexy, except that her face retains a similar undertone to the first image.

In the first one her face is saying "who are you, and what are you doing in my apartment?!?!" ... it's partly the lighting, and partly her permanently pursed lips which is giving me the impression of a scowl.

I know she's not doing that on purpose, but since she hasn't got a mirror, you'd have to tell her.

Hi milorad,

Yeah, I had noticed a bunch of issues like this when I was reviewing my photos...

Basically, since I was so into taking the shot, I would never notice things like how she posed and how an arm or something would look in the photo compared to how we saw it in person... Then there were also things like when we threw the pillows on the ground, we'd forget that it would be in the actual shot...

Just a lot of newbie errors on my part.

Something I need to learn to take notice of in the future.

Thanks!!

#1 is outstanding. I would have liked to see it with a little fill at camera left.

Haha thanks guys! She was awesome and we had a ton of fun which made it much easier for me, because I was pretty nervous to start. haha.

Hi Mike,

I thought about that too, the original shot is actually a little darker which I thought looked pretty nice. I may try adding more fill in post and see how it turns out, but I think I'll start seeing stupid reflections in the window and maybe a bit of noise.

Thanks!!
