So I'm a relative newbie to the DSLR field. Got an XSi earlier this summer, and have been playing with it since. So far I LOVE it, but I've got a lot to learn thats for sure.

These two are from hike I did shortly after getting the camera, nothing fancy but I thought they turned out well.

Thank you, its one of my favorites that I took this summer. I just thought it odd to find an old car like that on the side of a mountain fairly far away from any major city. It must have one hell of an interesting story behind it.

The first one is nice. With a bit more contrast and a nice B&W conversion, it would work very well. For the second one, it's a good idea, but lacks a subject. I know it's that white thing, but the white thing isn't terribly interesting.

Nice shots. Seems like you're onto something. Keep up the good work.

I can't say that I'm overwhelmed by the composition in either. Too much sky in the first. The out of focus mountains in the background bother me. In the second, it looks like the car should be the subject, but it's cut off. Or is the frozen lake the subject. See?

Here's one I took later in the summer, same sort of idea, but with an undoubtably better subject. The only reason I don't like it more is because I staged the shot and planted a flower in that spot so I could get the mountain in the background as well, haha.
