I love Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and its huge, beautifully presented collection of indigenous South African plants. But on this visit we all got soaked in the drizzle and downpours that lasted pretty much the whole day. Good excuse for coffee and cake afterwards and was still great to go back ... and what a setting right at the foot of Table Mountain. Anyway, I thought I'd do a different take on the usual colourful, pretty flower thing ...

I like them all. Come from Cape Town and you visited the area that records a lot of rain in the Winter.

Yeah, it was crazy this year. I expected rain to be close to over but at both the start and end of the trip there was not much change apart from the very last day. Even the locals were wondering what was happening! Still a wonderful city.
