Yeah, I wondered about the first exposure too. It is in focus, but the focal point is on the petals/base of the flower, and with the aperture I'd used there was a pretty shallow DOF so the stamens etc do look a little soft, a slightly smaller aperture might have helped here.

Hard to get the entire detail on such a fabulously detailed flower! The second shot is a framer..perfect.first is also lovely.but you already know about the DOF...it shows the fringe off rather nicely though;)

Just tried another one with a smaller aperture. Unfortunately the light's not as good today, but the DOF is better.
