Anyone using the Bibble Software with their D30? I would be intterested in how well it's working for you?

I think Bibble is GREAT! It's much faster than zoombrowser and allows for exposure adjustment after the fact. Try it, you can download a free trial version, you'll like it.

I've used the 10-day Trial of Bibble v2.99 and I too think it's great. I think I'm going to register the program.

It's fast and very good. Try it, I think you'll like it.

I found Bibble to be HORRIBLE unless you're after speed instead of quality. Get the trial, convert a pic of a person from RAW to TIF using Bibble, then do the same with Zoombrowser and compare the two Tif images. There is no comparison. Bibble does some weird things to color levels and always adds a really nasty yellow color to highlights, especially in skin.

Whether or not you like or dislike bibble depends on your quality standards. Try it and make your own judgement.

I can only say that I have had NO such problems whatsoever with Bibble. My standards for prints, if anything, are almost too high to be reasonable. I have read a LOT of comments from this and other boards and this is the ONLY complaint I've seen.

Everyone's conversions I've seen have this problem. I got bibble shortly after getting my D30. Did the conversions of a childs session and (thought it was typical of D30 images) there was a really nasty yellow tinge to the highlights, amoung other "Weird" things.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to adjust the images to look normal. Later I found that the cause was bibble and I've seen the same from D1x conversions as well.

Here is a raw to jpeg conversion, top is Bibble and bottom is zoombrowser. There is no comparison in quality. Neither has been edited or retouched in any way. Give yours a try (both ways and compare).
I wouldn't mind seeing your conversions either.

I may have to stand corrected. I did compare side by side (which I hadn't really done) and there is a yellowish tinge to the bibble conversion, but I was able to get it out.

I have to say now though, that zoombrowser gave me a better start and didn't take as long to get correct. It just took longer to convert.

I did this quickly last night and didn't spend a lot of time with it. I also opened the same pic in PS and PhotoImpact and they looked different as well.

I will look further into this when I can (fortunately I'm fairly busy!) and post what I find then too.

Cheers!
Bobby

Bobby - I was forced to use Zoombrowser because it did give better quality over Bibble, but now with the introduction of BreezeBrowser, I've now shelved Zoombrowser. Breeze browser makes identical quality conversions, is faster and easier to use, doesn't crash like zoombrowser does, doesn't have any of that dump database stuff. Works great. You can get a free trial, registered full version is 35.00

It also does rotations without degrading image quality.
Looks like Breeze browser is the best option to date.

I saw this message last night and was at about 20% on my download of breezebrowser at the same time ;o). I only had a few minutes to look at it, but I agree, it looks MUCH better than either ZB or Bibble.

Could you please tell us more about Breeze Browzer. Where do we get it?

Thanks,
Alan

Free to use (limited to 12 images in a dir) register it and you get full acess to all images. Well worth the 35.00

I've also compared Bibble and Breeze Browzer and agree that Breeze Browzer produces a better image. I imagine it could be corrected with Photoshop color layers but why spend the time.

The one thing I REALLY liked about Bibble was that it operates as a Photoshop "plug-in". This means one can totally automate the download and conversion of files from Photoshop.

I would hope that Breeze Browzer would add this facility.

Speaking of Automation, I just did my 1st fully digital wedding and am looking for something to help with automating the printing process.

Specifically, I'm looking to print 3 4x6's on an 8.5x11 sheet, or a contact sheet with more control over images size than the Contact Sheet II supplied with PS.

I have a program that is very good for this, but the pics all printed out very fuzzy from this program yet printed perfectly form PS.

Any suggestions. I'm very computer literate so advanced is not a problem, I just can't find any resources. I looked through 13 different books on PS yesterday at the bookstore and not one of them touched the subject other than printing 1 pic.

Thanks!
Bobby
