So, I finally received my transmitter/receiver to finish up a super beginner strobist kit. It consists of a 430EX diffused through a white see-through umbrella.

It's only one flash, I already started ordering the gear for a second flash. These are just practice shots, basically learning where to setup the flashes, what settings to shoot ect etc etc...

I think if I would have setup the strobe a little more to the left, the pics would have came out better. Personally i really don't think they came out that bad being my first time shooting with off-camera flashes. So uuhh c&c away i guess...and thanks in advance.;)

I'm no expert but I think if you shot from further out (further away), the images might have more of a dramatic effect. Though it's tough since you have a black car.

The height from which you took the image doesn't seem flattering to the car, although I know you were primarily testing out your lighting.

aahh I see. Hotspots. Will make adjustment, waiting for second flash setup to get there, then I'll give it another try. Black cars are hard.:(

No, not hotspots. There are no good defining reflections in the body.
How does this grab you? (external link)It was shot in a parking lot. Read the links I gave you.
