...I realized I haven't shared in a while... and also realized that I can't grow if I don't open myself up to any critique.

Therefore... comments critique are more than welcome.

Do you keep at least 2 bodies on you the whole time with different lenses for fast shooting? Or do you shoot with one for a while then get another and so on? Interesting variety of lens usage, especially in what seems to be low-ish light in #6, with the 24-105. Was it pretty low lighting or did you use enough off-camera light to make it like it is?
I'd like to follow you around for a wedding...You're great!

During ceremonies, I typically have three bodies... one telephoto, one ultrawide, one 50mm. The rest of the time it's usually two bodies... one ultrawide and the other one varies between normal zooms, telephoto, or prime. For receptions, I'm usually carrying one body and just switch a lot and try different things.

Yeah, for 6 it was really low light. That place was super dim. F/1.4 ISO1600 1/30 STILL could not expose people properly. So the solution is to use flash. I use flash with wide open primes all the time. I never understood why people seem to associate wide open prime usage with no flash ONLY. The 24-105 does well with flash and a 1-series focusing system. It struggles in focusing on most other bodies. But with a 1-series and AF assist light, you can still use the outer AF points easily in the worst light.

I like the color of #3 and how the contrast just pops! The ones indoors didn't grab a lot of my attention. What were you using for lighting for the last 3?

Just using a 430EX on a light stand pointed at the ceiling. pretty simple.

1 and 6 not too crazy for, all other are great. However, I think you missed a great opportunity with this bride. She has some amazing eyes, and something maybe in a tight shot, maybe with the same above angle as 2 would have been fantastic. I did one with a bride like this a while back and added a little softfocus, and they went wild over it. Hope you got some shot not in this series taking advantage of them.

Lloyd, yet another super set of wonderful photos! Your composition is always refreshing and original.

#1 is a tad washed out on my monitor. In #7 I would clone out the small "drop" hanging under her chin...I find it to be distracting.

Q. Is it me or are you using sepia conversions in your work more often now? I really love that look.

I was always taught to use a little light and make the most of it. LOL. It's amazing what you can do with one light.

hey Jim! It's great to hear from you again!
I've always had a thing for sepia. I don't think I'm using them more but it seems like I'm choosing more of them to share.

Yes, I use a lot of off camera flash. I like to try and use Wireless ETTL when I can, but outdoors it's useless so I use pocketwizards and manual flash. The best way to learn and get it right is just to practice like mad. I practice (and STILL practice like crazy) in my backyard taking pics of anything in any conditions. Sunlight, dusk, middle of the night, harshly frontlit, backlit, whatever. I have lots of pics of trees, fences, weeds, flowers, grass, and my wheelbarrow LOL.

Again, the sepia work is wonderful, but the color in this one is really great. The Bride has amazing eyes, you got them just right in the shots, too.
