Landscape HDR...thoughts please

I don't find the photo all that appealing but I think you did a good job on the processing side of things. The photo does not look too flat despite there not being a lot of shadows. you have good detail on the fence and no blown clouds. Overall you have a good image.

It's very nice and not overdone like some I have seen. But of course, overdone is a matter of personal taste and subject matter IMO.

It seems awfully flat to me. With bright sun there should be some shadows and dimensions. Were those removed with the HDR processing? I am not really familiar with it too much.

If it had shadows and contrast it would be a much nicer picture, IMO.

In so far as HDR, this is one of the better attempts.
As others have mentioned the lack of shadows, my monitor is displaying shadows very well.
Before anyone mentions the central horizon, I want to say that I have no problem with it. The terrific DOF and detail makes it a winner for me and that's not to mention the beautiful subject content. I would be very proud of this image if it were mine. But I do feel that a polorizing process and/or some selective saturation of the greens would take care of the flat appearance.

You might try boosting the midtone contrast a little, but...

As a landscape it is wonderful.

Considering that it was taken around high noon, no wonder that there is not much contrast with the shadows - there aren't any to speak of.

The HDR processing is probably responsible for the image coming out as well as it did.

i like the image a lot. I had a play because i was bored. I think the sky is interesting. This may look good in b&w too
