Shotgun.

I totally would have them bring one, but I'm not sure we would have even 5 minutes before we'd be surrounded by the local police........guns are very rare thing in Winnipeg. Although I'll be keeping that idea in mind for the wedding pictures, which will be taken in the Country...

thanks

THANKS EVERYONE!
I've come up with a list of shots (with your help of course)... I'll be shooting the e-session sometime in the next 2 months and I will post a few shots at that time!

thanks again for all the input!

Have him dress in his farm clothes. And have his fiance dressed in her business / urban entire. Try to theme his side of the image with farm related props, and her side of the image with distinctive city visuals. You could also reverse the roles for a few images. Have him dressed as a city boy, and the lady as a farmers daughter. And of course some images in their regular dressy entire.

Some ideas of city visuals could include: taxi, news stands, street sign that indicates a numbered street (2nd Street, 4th Street, etc), parking meters, city hall, art gallery, museum, city bus, tasteful graffiti, bridge, train / subway, construction zone, on the rooftop of a building with the city in the background and farm related props in the foreground,

I'm not familiar with Winnipeg, sorry if some of my ideas seem "out there."

After searching on google about Winnipeg , Old Market Square or somewhere else in the Exchange District might work? Or Central Park. I think the Esplanade Riel with the cityscape in the background would be really nice.

This situation reminds me of the Green Acres TV show.

I would have them both in business attire and then do the shoot on the farm, or just her in business attire and him in jeans and a work shirt. Hey maybe even do a combo, she wear a suit jacket and jeans and him a work shirt with dress pants and a nice pair of shoes, in the city or farm setting.

just my thought on the topic.

oh wait better yet, them in farm clothes in the city on a horse.

depending on which city he is in, there can be inner city horse farms. plus if he is a farm/country guy he probably has access to one.

I thought of pigs, hay, horses, etc. But I didn't mention it because the OP mentioned his client as a "beef, dairy & grain" farmer. Could try to transport a cow to the city. lol

I would try to keep it as close to what he actually does as possible. Just my opinion.

yea def. good point, you could really go to the farm that he works on and dress in a suit and same with her. it gives a farm feel but also it remains classy with the suits.

Tried to multi-quote but the system decided it needed some vacation time.

I did suggest to the couple that his farm would be an excellent location, but the bride wants these to be city shots to show that she is from here.... and the wedding will take place on his farm.

thanks again for all the ideas.

I have a suggestion, it would be more of a "funny" type picture, but still getting the point accross.

Have the city girl wear a cowboy hat. Have a rope tied around the farmer boy, and have it look like she's pulling on him, from the country into the city. That would suit them both I think.

No overalls but a straw hat might help.
