I LOVE photographing sparklie things..diamonds being my favourite! Here are a few practice shots I took in the sun today!:oops:
I'm just not sure how to get them so sharp and really focused looking when on Macro...is it because I zoomed in too much? I would
like to be able to see the hearts and arrows of the diamond!

It would help.

Also, if you did not already...

Tripod, Mirror lockup, and either a shutter release or the timer. At tight focal distances, the smallest amount of camera movement shows.

Look good to me but you will be able to get sharper much closer shots with a 1:1 macro lens which would then show up the stone details more.
