These are not mine, found on flickr: follow this link (external link) and there are full sized originals if you click the All Sizes tab.

Why do they all say taken on January 1 2000? In the details on the right.

Probably never reset the date/time on the camera?

Most likely is a loner and the time and date haven't been set.

These images run thru CS3 with a little bit of Noiseware applied turn out really well. Reduced in size for the web they sharpen up very nicely. One thing that I've noticed with the 50D images I'm finding is that they seem to sharpen up better than with my 40D ...

Well I looked at two.

One is a 6400 shot with missed focus (not a good indicator...) and one is a 3200 shot with NO detail at 100% (not a good indicator...)
After that, I just stopped looking

And I want to know why, even at 1600 ISO, the grass never looks sharp/detailed...

Adam he posted a thread over at: dpreview (external link) and explains the camera is a store sample and in some shots used the cameras 9 point AF selection. He got good results when he selected the AF Point.

Curious as to which two that turn you off so quickly. Admittedly I opened some in ZoomBrowser to check the AF selection and it was off from the subject as intended.

Well of course the 50D has many more pixels to "fine tune" than what your 40D outputs.
