Video consists of 777 pictures taken one minute apart starting at approximately 6:30 AM until approximately 8:30 PM.

Used a Canon A570IS with CHDK running Allbest build with Ultra Intervalometer script. Pictures were compiled using Avidemux and music and text were added using Corel VideoStudio 12.

Mounted the camera on a tripod, used an AC adapter that plugged into an inverter that was plugged into my car outlet. Camera was left it in aperature priority mode at 8.0 and I let the camera select the time exposure.

And then I sat in my car for 14 hours.

The next time I do this, I think I'll do 30 second intervals because 1 minute may seem short but with the way the wind blows in Oklahoma, the clouds were moving way too fast. And I'll scout out a better location to get a better closer view of the city.

your cinematic efforts are commendable
but next time instead of siting in the car 14 hours think about using an external battery and just leave the camera taking the pics

Thanks.

There are two problems with your suggestion: 1) I don't know if there is an external battery that would last 12-14 hours. At least none that would make economical sense as I don't do this too often and 2) If I had left my camera, I would have came back and found my camera missing!

Love it.

Stop-motion photography is incredibly tedious work, even if you're just sitting in the car letting the camera do most of it. Seems to be ~6.5 frames/sec, how did you arrive at that number?

I wanted the video to be around 2-3 minutes long and it just so happened that around the 5 fps - 8 fps range, the images would flow together fairly well without the animation being too fast or too slow. 6.5 fps made the movie almost exactly 2 minutes so it all worked out.

Basically, I picked a framerate and got lucky. This was my first serious attempt at time lapse photography and I'm amazed it came out as well as it did. My first experimentation was only a couple of days earlier with a 5 second interval for about 4 hours of just my street.
