Thought I'd get round to posting a few landscape shots I took in Tuscany last month for critique.

IMAGE: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3239/2780417285_7aff6c347c_o.jpg

I like the variety of textures in the ploughed earth on that one.

Next up, a view from the garden of the villa that we were staying in:

Just a shame that the sunflowers had just finished blooming, bad timing!

And finally, a photomerge panorama I made from 4 exposures taken in Volterra:

Feedback welcomed!

Scenes from Tuscany never disapoint...

Ok, here's my two cents:
1) I see where you're coming from with the different textures but I'd consider actually cropping out the foreground texture and let the line of the hills anchor the bottom of the frame. I like the extra sky at the top. Not sure why, but I do.

2) The extra sky doesn't work as well in this one and I think it would look better in a pano crop.

3) The piece of wall at camera right doesn't do anything for this one. I'd crop in the right edge to lose that and I'd take a look at pulling a little more detail out of the trees and buildings in the village below. Things look a bit dense there...

Nice shots. Post more if you've have some!

Cheers mate, some great ideas there.

I almost did crop out that additional foreground in the first shot but decided I liked it, I never did try it without though so I'll have a play with your suggestions.

Here's a couple more shots.

One taken from up high in San Gimignano:

Not sure if this counts as either nature or a landscape, but here's a view of the Boboli gardens in Florence:

Ah you make me realize how much I miss Italy, especially Firenza :). Whilst not my favorite places in Tuscan region the shots still came out well. I would have liked to see something more in the first two shots, there wasn't really much to focus on in them.

Thanks for the tip on the polariser. It's something I'd been considering, but unfortunately as the front element on the kit lens and 75-300 rotate, it would make it a bit of a pain to use although my 70-210 doesn't.

Just an excuse to get a better lens I guess!

I like very much how the village looks but maybe some sky work would really make it pop just that much more!

Sky looks better but you've made the village shadows much denser as well.

You need to make a mask for the sky so that you can work on it seperately.

OK, tried simply masking out the sky this time around and left the rest as per the original:
