5Dmk2 video and lens adapters

Hi all, first time poster. (I think- I've been hanging around for a long time...)

Does anyone know if the 5Dmk2 can be (gasp) used to shoot video with (gasp again) another lens brand using a cheapo manual lens adapter?

Anything that can be adapted to EF mount should work. And that's a pretty long list.

Yes. Anything that it can take stills with it'll be able to take video with... which is a phenomenally long list once you start taking into account the M42 etc. adapters.

If what I read is true, then the 5D MkII uses the same mirror box assembly as the original 5D. If that is definitely the case, then you still need to be careful which lenses you will be adapting since some of them will still cause interference issues (the mirror will hang up, the lens' aperture lever will rub against the mirror box, etc). You can correct these issues with a little simple filing or by shaving the mirror.

I had these issues on two lenses...the SMC Takumar 50/1.4 and the Zeiss 85/2.8. With the Takumar, I had to file down the ring around the rear lens element, which solved that problem. With the Zeiss, the aperture lever was hitting the mirror box and wouldn't let me stop down the lens. A little filing there also solved the problem. Just need to be careful which lenses and adapters that you use.
