I went to the Schlitz Audobon Nature Center a few days ago.

I don't know why it's advertised as a bird center more than anything
it's really just ants and butterflies and sand and a bunch of trees
i think the only bird I saw was a dead one on the beach

Processed in Lightroom. The only tricky one was the grasshopper because it had to have so much detail in it

I think you missed focus a little on the first one, and the second needs more DOF.

Considering the DOF but also knowing how hard it is to shoot macros like this with fstops of 97 or greater being needed ;), I think you did a good job. I also like the grasshopper pic.

Yeah thanks
I totally didn't plan on any macros so I brought my 300mm which has a minimum focusing distance of 5 ft

I had to use my widest f stop or else it got pretty blurry and/or it made no difference

I like the bugs on the pod best. Focus is good and the colors work.

Yeah... the focus is off on the first pic... the flowers are want my eyes are drawn to. The pod picture seems soft or out of focus... for, the shot was missed. Turns out that I like the focus on the grasshopper the most, but the composition is a little lacking.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.
