I got it on... now how do i get it off:shock:

lol... well i have done some reading and i just don't know what is best for me. I have a 430 EX and a 580 EXII, i would like to get them both off my camera. Now, i know there is the ST-E2, Cactus triggers, PW's, Skyports as well as a couple other radio triggers/receivers. What i was really leaning toward is a radio trigger like the Skyport or PW mainly cause they can also fire my AB800 wirelessly.

I have also heard that Cactus triggers can be unreliable or don't fire canon flashes very well. Canon's ST-E2 has less of a range compared to radio triggers and i think that i read that they have line of sight or at least be in the same room as the ST-E2.

So i was wondering if anyone had any other options for me and what would be cheapest. I don't know much about skyports and i don't really hear too much of them here on the forums

thanks for the help everyone

-Mike

Have you seen the following thread? If not, it'll be a good place to start.

I like using an extended OC-E3 for off camera flash. I get full ETTL, and using the in-camera menu, I can make quick adjustments without leaving the camera.

You can lengthen it as long as you like yourself, or buy one already modified. Here is a thread that shows you how to do it: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=123662

If you don't like doing it yourself, you can buy an extended cord here:

Paul C. Buff (Alien Bees creator) Cybersyncs work a treat, and don't break the bank at all.

$212 shipped gets you a transmitter and 2 recievers. They have fantastic range, they are built well, and I haven't seen a misfire from them yet.

I have had no problems with the Cactus "eBay" triggers of the PT-04 variety. I've pretty much given up on the V2s receiver and any flash (Canon or Vivitar).

I use my 580EX-2 on and off camera a lot.
