I was born in the north of Sweden, moved to Stockholm after I had finished school, lived there for about 15 years and now I live in Trondheim, Norway. Last weekend we went to Stockholm to visit friends and the weather was nice, so I did some photography.

Here are a few taken with 5D + 35L and 450D + 135L. Really love that combo, but the next time we visit a big city I'll also bring the 24/2.8 for some wider shots.

Thank you John!

I had hoped for a few more comments (from other people), but one is much better than none. :D

Very pleasant shots, Helena. Just as fine as your shots taken with your S3.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only s3users.com user straddling these fences.

Excellent shots Helena! That 135 mm is amazingly sharp, with great color renditioning. I'd like to see more people shots, this time with the 5D/35L combo.

Thank you! Nice to "meet" you here. I miss the friendly people at the S3 forum, but since I never use my S3 anymore I rarely go there anymore.

So you got a DSLR too? Which one?

Thank you very much! Yes, both these lenses are stunning. The 135L is probably slightly sharper (it's difficult to compare a wide lens and a telephoto), but 35mm is more useful, so I love them both.

Are you looking for portraits taken with the 35L? One would have to be really close and I'm not sure if people would like that... My family and friends hate being photographed, so I have no one to practise on.

Was number 1 of Hötorget Market?

I went to Stockholm a long time ago when I just had a very simple digital compact (something like 1mp) and I remember the market being so incredibly colourful, but then accidentally deleting those photos when I needed to delete some to make space on my only (then very expensive) 64MB card.

Stockholm is such a beautiful city, thanks for sharing.

Michael.

Comments, bribes, criticism, bribes, irrelevant anecdotes, and bribes always welcome.
EXIF is available inside all my photos, though bribes are still recommended anyway.
You could visit my sparse South West 16 (external link) web site and rarely updated flickr stream (external link)...
...or you can check out my slightly more frequent London iPhone Twitter flickr (external link). Sometimes in colour!

Thank Michael! Yes, it was indeed Hötorget marketplace. Unfortunately, I got there too early in the morning, before many customers had arrived. This made the vendors pay attention to me, so it was difficult to take any candid shots.

Hope that you enjoyed your visit in Stockholm! I love going there, but I love even more to be back in smaller/quieter Trondheim afterwards. :D

That's a shame; your photos are always a treat over there. :)
I'm not giving up the S3, however. With the CHDK, it's an excellent camera for taking bracketed shots to use for HDR, as well as being less cumbersome for various outings, while providing great image quality.

So you got a DSLR too? Which one?

I now have a Rebel XTi/400D. I'm still getting comfortable with it, but the S3 on manual settings has given me a good primer for using it. And I can thank the goldmine of friendly knowledge in this forum for the rest. ;)

Thank you! It was taken in Old Town. The light was difficult, or else I would have taken many more. It's beautiful there.

Thank you again! :) I was sure that I would use my S3, but have found that when the 450D with a small lens is too big to bring the S3 is too.

Glad that you still find use for yours, because it really is a great camera. My fiancé has a Panasonic FZ18 that takes good photos (and has some nice features like wide angle etc.), but I think the S3 has better IQ.
