fogged in, BCNH with a 2x+1.4x TC. opinion?

here's a pic of a 70-200 F2.8 with Tamron 2X + Tamron 1.4X TC, full zoom.

the picture is resized, but uncropped, and slightly sharpened. This was taken this morning, where everything was fogged in.

i'm personally unhappy with it, and don't think i'll be stacking the TC anymore, but looking for opinions.

I think the bird itself looks very sharp...and exceedingly uncomfortable with the weather. Without the foreground branches I think it would be a keeper.

To be very honest I thought the image would be much worse!

I would try messing with taking more images and experiment a bit...Who knows what you might potentially be able to pull-off!!!:D
