Also the dust is generally quite close to the lens and flash, and is therefore out of focus and ghostly looking.

There's another phenomenon you get with video which you might have seen on these so-called paranormal programmes - namely "rods". These are actually insects which fly close to the camera, and the reason the rods change shape is because the insects' wings are beating quickly, so they blur and appear to pulsate.

That Spirit Orb over the stream looks suspiciously shaped - almost like it was an opening in a a lens....whooaaa and all this time I thought lens flare was the culprit when I was shooting into bright lights.

I guess you learn something new everyday.

Heh! You have to smile at this stuff! Think about it, though, us photogs, instead of cussing out the flare and anomalies that show up in our shots and complaining in a photographer forum, could get onto a spirit orb forum, post, and be famous:)!

Hey, you should all watch what you're saying.

The healing spirit orbs may just be in contact with the lens flare fairies - you may never get a good shot again!

We got sucked into one of those programs, they were out in the woods looking for UFOs and Sasquatch....they kept seeing satellites and the 'tech specialist' kept pulling up a website and saying 'No, nothing is scheduled right now." Yep, that's it Mr. Tech Manager, every known satellite is listed in your little database, there's nothing 'secret' out there!

AND THEN (if that wasn't enough), the owner of the ranch says that the activity will 'really' pick up around 10:00. And a really bright light appeared, right around 10:00!

Mr. Tech Manager said it was too bright to be an aircraft, and no known aircraft could cross the sky (in a straight line) in six minutes. He also estimated the altitude of the UFO at 100,000 feet - much higher than any airplane.

Once hubby and I dried our eyes (cuz it kept getting better and better), we were really impressed at the incredible footage they had caught!

I wish they were all removed by cleaning the lens. What is very interesting is that some of them do not appear until days later. Can you help me understand how that can happen?

Many of the orbs that appear on my pictures aren't seen until much later. They are not noticeable when I first load them from the camera to the pc.

Thanks,
Ken

Probably as you didn't notice them, they are definitely there. Things just don't appear in images. Especially these pieces of flash bounced dust, which is all they are.

I'm actually one for ghost hunting but I had this whole new creation of orbs, rods, plasma, smoke, etc. So freakin' annoying and was probably created because people constantly came up empty handed so they started calling dust, bugs, and whatever else may cause orbs, ghosts or spirits.
