Sorry if this has been posted but I just saw it. This is incredible, I thought the video would really only be usable if the camera was stationary or tripod mounted but this proves otherwise. I cant wait for this camera.

Oh great . Like I needed to see that!! I'm not looking at this Mr. Canon marketing machine .. You'll never convince me to list my 5D on ebay and then try consignment just so I can upgrade to this body! I'm not even going to consider it. Anyone wanna buy a 5D?

Stunning. Filming with a TS-E lens will be so fun!

I was already sold on this camera way before it came out... And wasn't really interested in the video side of it but after seeing this. Who do I have to sell to get this right now??

There is no doubt the footage is stunning, but there is still a question of how it handles motion, ie panning quickly, etc. They are using a gyro attached to the base of the camera in some of the shots to aid stabilization.

Anyway, have just seen the first online price here in Australia, $3999 AUD ($3220 USD) http://camerasdirect.com.au/ (external link)
so I wouldn't be complaining about the cost if you live in the US ;)

Who put them prices out?

I wouldn't worry about the crazy prices some AUS mum and dad retailers put out for this camera mate.

Wait until some of the AUS based internet stores and importers get a hold of the camera and I think you will find the prices are much closer to the USA, we will see. :)

For example one of the AUS online retailers sells the current 5D new for US $1992.00 , I think that is cheaper then the new price in the USA. Hence I don't think they will sell the 5D2 for that much more then the USA market, least I hope they wont :).

I just got off the phone to a local Canon importer here in AUS and he can't lock in a price until they hit our shores but he told me he doesn't expect to be selling it for more then AUS $3300, that's approx US $2740 given the current exchange rate.

Im happy with that.
