Does anyone see a problem with using a large flash at football games. By large I'm talking about larger than the normal canon flashes. I use a Norman 400B for rodeos. I was wondering if it would cause and problems at HS football.

Are you hand holding the flash? If not where are you going to put it that it is not a danger to any of the players, cheerleaders, officials or the Norman itself. I'm just not a fan of using a flash at sporting events, I just don't to interfere with the players. That said, I use a 580exII at bicycle races and riders tell me they don't even notice it, but this is more fill during the day so the flash isn't that noticeable.

However, short of this, the brightness of a flash or strobe is normally not an issue since the duration of the light is so short. http://www.denniswierzbicki.com
