They are actually leases. McCain's aircraft is leased from Swift Air, and Obama's aircraft is leased from North American Airlines. Once they are done with them, they paint them back to the airlines colors and return them. And the other guy gets Air Force One :D

They're not painted. Those are plastic appliques like they put on the buses. 600 MPH appliques:lol::lol::lol:

Off the political note...HOLY SMOKES....Don't see DC8's to frequently with the those JT3 engines. (I think they are JT3'S) Most the DC8's around my parts have the CFM56 upgrade.

Murray Air is one of the few I think still using the old school stove pipe engines :lol: . I just love when one takes off over my head, sounds like an F16 going over.

They have 3 in their fleet, the two -63 models (N921R and N865F) use the older engines, and they have one -71 model (N872SJ) that has updated engines.
