Nice shot, as it really like that to the naked eye?

Thanks, Anke. Yes...that's how it looked that evening. A storm was clearing and gave some nice cloud cover for the setting sun. I was actually hoping for more reds and some alpenglow, but that didn't happen. We have to take what we can get. ;)

WOW indeed, but I would crop the foreground.

I find it too distracting. It just sits there!

When editing don't forget that the brain doesn't "see" the picture as a whole or even from left-to-right or right-to-left, but instead from corner to corner (top-left to bottom right or top-right to bottom left).

In my case, it was the first thing that I noticed :)

cheers

P.S. The B&W conversion... spot on!

I disagree.

My eye first caught the bottom left corner, the bright spot in the river, then the angle of the river drew my eye up the image into the mountain and sun rays. I think it works perfectly, at least my tastes.

I disagree. The plants in the foreground give the shot depth and the river is a leading line for the eye. Perfect as is.

Wow! Absolutely fan-freakin'-tastic. I would like to see the color version, though. Where is Oxbox Bend?

Another WOW! that's one excellent shot, and I think the black and white conversion works very well for it. Nicely done :)
