Im new to photography, just picked up a Canon Rebel Xsi recently.
I don't do any photo editing yet, and really havent had alot of experience using this camera yet, but these are some of the better pictures I've taken.

-can anyone tell me how to add images directly to the thread from Flickr?

To post from flickr you will need to click on teh image and then go to all sizes. Once you have the size you want you will need to right click and copy on the url address. Come back here and look for the yellow and gray post where the B I U
Click the yellow and gray box and paste the info that you copied from flickr in there. Click "ok: then when you hit post reply or submit thread the pic should show up.

Some nice shots here. But some of them are a little dark on the face. If you don't have good lighting, don't be afraid to use the on camera flash if you have one or carry a small automatic flash unit with you to add fill light when needed.

make sure you focus on the eyes very important
