Don't be afraid to break rules to capture the personality of your pet. wider angle for a different perspective (yorkies think they are big dogs): IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ayn/3165462577 capture the moments in between poses, this was when he was a puppy sitting for an informal shoot with my boxes in the bed, but being a pup he got tired and bored very quickly: IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ayn/2110223032 @ayn

It was hot, mid 80's and no clouds in the sky. There were less than 10 hikers on the trail and three dogs. I find the 24-70 is a very convenient range for a lot of different shots and you can be close to the dog, with treats, etc whereas you can't do that with the 85 or the 70-200.

Might use a 70-200/2.8 here or there, but that's mainly because the 85 is quite slow at focusing. This first two are with the 85L and the latter are with the 70-200/2.8L IS. Im shooting full frame so you can pick lenses accordingly. I might want a 50/1.4 EX for a cropper. ![]() ![]() Beautiful captures, the one above especially.
