Let me address the first ones. Interesting shots, especially the first. I'm seeing a bunch of purple fringing along her hair. Whether you knew it or not, you framed her eye between her hair and the grass. The colors are slightly washed out, but that's not a fundamental problem. I could see her toe at the bottom left of the photo which is slightly distracting if you look for it. Good shot though. I happen to like it.

The second isn't as good, but I like what you're going for. A bit more contrast maybe nice. I think some of it is the position doesn't look very natural.

The park shots weren't as good. You could use a polarizer as that would help cut out glare and bring details out. Your 2nd to last shot is the most successful out of the group. The others just didn't interest me much.

Regarding Photoshop, it is intimidating. But there are other applications you can use. I use Bibble Pro for my post-processing (5 is due out this year, horray) and a lot of people use Lightroom. If you're a Mac user with a good video card, Aperture is also an option.

Thanks for the reply. I've only been really interested in this for maybe a month. I've been trying to soak up all the information I can.

I'm extremely computer literate, just never used photoshop that much. I've got a really nice computer set-up, I'll check out lightroom, thanks for the recommendation.

I picked those pictures for the composition rather than the image success. I liked what I was looking at is all. Once I figure out my equipment more, I think that'll help.

Again, thanks!

I'm not actually recommending Lightroom. As I said, I use Bibble Pro and am very happy with it. I've never used Lightroom. I'm just pointing out lots of people use it (and frankly, it's probably a great app).

The first picture from the first group is good. But I think its missing a bright smile which portrays a lot of emotion in pictures. The second is okay for a snapshot but needs a lot of work on the exposures. The second set are decent but it appears you used a flash when it seems a bright enough day to do without it causing the rocks to white out and strange water reflections. Keep up the work though.
