While shooting a wedding on Sunday the zoom on my 24-70 f2.8L locked up.
I'll be taking it in to Canon in the near future.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. If so, was it a relatively easy thing to get repaired?

Oct 02, 2008 15:07 | #4 Yes! Mine has gotten stuck, and still sticks now and then. And when it does not stick it does not zoom much wider that 30mm and not much more than 65mm... it also rattles a little when I shake it. When it does get stuck I can usually tip it one way or another and shake it at the same time I try and zoom it and it eventually breaks free. I definately need to send it in! I've just been too lazy to send it and i do have a 16-35 and 70-200 so it's not missed a whole lot, but I own it and do use it so i should send it soon, very soon. 5DmkII, 5DmkIII, 5DS R, 15mm, 16-35 f/2.8 II L, 100 Macro f/2.8 L, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS, 85 f/1.8, 580EX II, 580EX, 550EX

My 580 EX flash gun stop working today also, another 165.00 from Canon. Feb 05, 2016 09:42 | #13 I had a similar issue with the 17-40, but it was the screws that hold in the ring to the actual mechanism that got loose, was a cheap $50 repair at a local place since it was easy to fix.
