I went to my second air show last weekend armed with my new Sigma 150-500 OS hoping for great weather and an even better show. At the beginning of the week the forecast was 74 and mostly sunny! But apparently Murphy was at the show and we had overcast skies with a low ceiling which meant a few demonstrations had to be canceled. It was also very windy. This makes it even harder to pan when you don't do it that often. So I wasn't surprised when I had lots of shots that were OOF, but I did have a few that I liked.

C&C welcomed and appreciated.

Pretty much guarentee that if you want cloudy skies and sketchy weather, bring one of two things to town:

- NASCAR Race
- Airshow

Nice job considering the less than ideal conditions. The head on of Fat Albert is oustanding...

Excellent motion blur on the P51 in that first shot.
How are you liking the 150-500?

Haha! Yes, that sounds about right. I was really surprised when Fat Albert came straight at us and I was happy that I managed to snag a couple good shots as well. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks.

The 150-500 is very nice. I love the native 500mm, especially since I have switched to a 1.3 crop from a 1.6 crop camera. The OS works very nice, it has a few quirks, but once you learn them it is great. The AF is plenty fast enough, and the IQ isn't bad either. If you pixel peep you might not get the detail you are looking for, but if you fill the frame with your shot you will be rewarded!

Thanks guys. The Mustang was the only plane that got low enough to get the trees in the shot to help convey the blur. All the other panning shots are against a boring gray background. :(

Great head on shot of Fat Albert, like the P51 shots too, but they are too bright for me. I hate when the weather doesn't cooperate .
