I usually use the "I'll use it more than the purse you just bought sitting in the closet" or "At least my camera stuff fits in a bag, not two entire closets".

When that fails and she gets mad there's always the Sorry Card and if that fails I have to resort to the Get Out Of Jail Free cards when Sorry just isn't good enough.
