Top one strikes me as just a tad dense but I do like what you did with the bottom image.

Almost a "Pearly Gates" feel to it...really draws me in through the opening.

I like the ideas behind both the shots.
Image 1 has too much contrast, IMO. Colour saturation seems a little surreal.

Image 2 is over-exposed. Might have been nice If the Left set of trees had the same lighting effect as the right set.

Excess PP on both. It takes time to gain control over what you are doing, when post-processing :D Worry not, it kicks in with time.

Would be nice to see the original images.

First shot is a nice ho-hum landscape.

The second shot has gone overboard with some post-processing concept which is different but not necessarily illuminating or an improvement. If this were one of a series which gave us a clue as to what you are trying to convey, then perhaps it would have a chance. Just placed in a field of landscapes might win you the most overexposed of the year award.

Both pictures suffer in composition from being too centered.
