I just did my first paying job and have no clue how to give the photos to my client. They are due this Friday!

Basically, he get's a disc of 100 shots for use only on myspace.com.

Is there a step I should take before I give him the actual shots? I read something about people resizing them to be "unprintable." I know nothing about all that pixel stuff and resizing. I just started editing my own photos.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction? I just want to make the photos an awkward size for printing.

Thanks in advance!

You can do a few things.. aside from resizing (use an optimize for web and the lowest dpi without loosing the screen quality.

You can add a disable right click javascript code that will probably deter the average web user.. they cant right click, they usually give up.

You probably should watermark any larger images (like pop ups)

This isn't a business question, you've posted to the wrong forum. You haven't told us what software you use either.

What you need to do is resize the images, 500 pixels on the longest side should be enough for web use. You can add a watermark if you like, but honestly if you don't know how to resize it's probably going to be too hard unless you have software that does it for you.

In Photoshop use file -> scripts -> image processor . If you need a free solution use irfanview (google it), it can also do a very basic watermark for you.

Besides what Tim said, you can always crop the proof images to a non standard format, so they don't fit on 4X6, 5X7, 8X10...

Good points. Moving it.

Sorry.
Photoshop CS on Mac.
I usually resize by going to image-->image size--->800x618 pixels. (At least that's what I did last night before you guys responded.)
But I will probably change it to 500.

Is there a size you recommend?

I'd also set 72dpi as the resolution. When I crop, I just use whatever doesn't look like it's a standard ratio, as in here:
'38 Chevy 2-Door Sedan 350

Good luck printing any of those! Although I have had someone say they "made a GREAT 8X10" print" from the web image. I asked them to tell anyone who sees it that I didn't make it for them :D
