I guess I can understand that. OTOH, I would think that they should appreciate any coverage they could get to increase admissions. Making it harder to get good shots isn't going to encourage photogs to want to pay at the door.

A stunning photo or two never hurt anyone's business. But then again...they never seem to be hurting for visitors. Definitely not a photo paradise unless you enjoy shooting detail shots and snippets.

The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, CA, (where I shot THIS) didn't seem to have any problems with four of us roaming all over the place with tripods and big lenses... They were very nice about the whole thing.

I sometimes think it has more to do with what day you are there. If the place is fairly quiet, they seem a bit more liberal in their policies. Being able to use a pod can be a big plus.
