I open and edit files in RAW (ACR) and then just open file which takes me to Elements via Tiff. I think I am missing something. Someone enlighten me if there's a better way Johnny V wrote in post #8879596 ...But if the image file will be worked on extensively like contrast, highlight and shadow recovery, saturation then it's best to use a 16-bit file such as a Tiff or psd. 16-bit files can be stretched, pushed and pulled extensively more without image degradation than an 8-bit file. Also the Camera Raw window, in CS4, has the working color space and bit size on bottom. It can be clicked on to change the parameters. Does Camera Raw Elements have that and if so what is it set to? I assume this is where I change from 8 to 16 bit. Johnny V wrote in post #8890358 I don't know Elements at all. Is it limited to 8-bit files? I've been fumbling around in my computers but for the life of me, I can't find any documentation on where I downloaded the preset from. But a good bet is to try presetsheaven.com or just follow the google trail for COL Dragan. Good Luck. Nik If anyone is interested COL Dragan 5 can be found here: http://github.com/fmeyer/lightroom-plugins

ACR under Elements lets you set the bit depth but I don't think Elements supports various color spaces. There certainly isn't a dropdown for it on the Elements ACR window. The below image @ ISO 400 (10% crop of image) was under-exposed by about 1.85 stops due to flash not recycling in time. Settings are identical in both apps: Fear the Gear!
