Well, first post. Got my 50D about a month ago. Switched from that other brand. :) Loving it so far. Only have the EFS 18-200, 50mm f1.8 and a 28-70 f2.8 L. Got my eye on a 70-200 f2.8L once the prices drop on the older versions with IS. :)

I have shot mostly sports (my son's wrestling) but there were floods around here (Northern NJ) over the weekend and I got out and shot a lot. Not nearly as good as what I'm seeing here but here are a few...

Got some shots of the Little Falls in Little Falls, NJ earlier. They're uploading now. Nice light as it was sunset.

Loving the 50D though!

I'm so mad at myself.. I don't usually take my camera with me when I got to work (2nd shift) so when the storms rolled through I didn't think to grab it before I left, I missed out on a TON of flood pictures down here in Central NJ..

With that, what do you guys use to keep the camera dry when taking pics in the rain?

Generally whatever hoodie I'm wearing at the time. I just zip it up inside of it. It works for a light rain, obviously not so good on downpours. If its in the summer months, I just don't take my camera out in the rain. I wait till after and try to get some water dropped flowers where I can.

I don't take it out when it's pouring. It was a light drizzle so I wasn't terribly concerned. In the rain, I was shooting with the L lens so that's pretty-well sealed and the 50D is somewhat sealed so I wasn't worried.

Honestly I don't think I've ever seen a rolling motorcycle shot from that perspective before. I like it! Great shot.

Here are a couple I took last night with ND and GND filters (first time using ND & GND filters). It was more of an experiment for me, but this is what I got:

Geez! Wish I could get results like this. My only nitpick - the bottom one seems slightly crooked - maybe the horizon could be tilted a bit. Love the colors.

Benee, I agree, it does look crooked, but its only because the horizon line is leading away from me and therefore looks like its tilting down. I will probably go back and fix it though cause I was wondering about it too. Thanks!

And tjaudet829, is that an infinity pool leading out to the ocean/sea? Looks quite relaxing.

Yes it is an infinity pool, Sunrise at the Dreams Rivirera Cancun Resort.
Very nice place.
