I have been the proud owner of a 50D since Mar17th 2010. These are some of the first outdoor shots taken with it.

Both taken at Swanage Steam Railway in Dorset UK.

I have owned and enjoyed an EOS 350D for 4 years - let's hope I get as much pleasure from this camera.

I really like that shot of the little station. The colors are very rich.

Hi folks - would someone be a sweetie and tell me what the next lower rung down in megapixel quality is for your 50D please?

For example, for my XSi the highest is 12mp, the next step lower is 6mp.

I'll guess the next lowest for the 50D is 8mp....

Thank-you!

Yes and it is very nice to have the option to not shoot at 15mp all the time. Especially when I am just shooting jpeg at a family dinner or something that does not require lots of pp.

I am using 8MP now and nothing more as my current training mode on the 50D.

Once I am up to it, it will be 15MP all the way. I have the habit of making 4R photos of my fav shots for future reviews.

RAW - still deciding on this topic.

I would use Raw, as I do with the XSi.

I asked about the mp lower setting on the off chance it was "12mp" - in which case I would use it as natural noise reduction.

If I go with the 50D - I'm hopeful ISO 1600 & 3200 are clean enough in the majority of situations. Reading the fine points of the www.dpreview.com (external link) 50D review and user experiences...

Would love to find a hot price for a new 50D + 15-85mm combo!
