I have a 16GB that I keep in the camera 90% of the time. It holds 670+ Raw shots. I just download to my Toshiba every week or so and never remove the card. I think its a Kingston. I also have an 8GB card and don't even know what brand it is. They are all about the same as far as I have seen.

Damn, it would suck to lose 16GB worth of images. I'd never buy a card that large.

artyH,

I have a whole shoot done at 3200 for my daughters cheer comps in the Sun national bank arena in Trenton NJ. They came out pretty good. Some needed more PP than others but good overall. I only had a Canon 70-200mm f/4L with me at the time for the range and was not allowed to use flash of any kind. I can not post the images with the girls from the cheer squad without releases from the parents but I can post a shot I took of the banner from way up in the 2nd tear seating to give you an idea. No PP just converted. Hope this helps.

Thanks, the image looks pretty clean and sharp to me.

I think that 8gig is a safe number to max out at due to the fact that maybe I just don't shoot enough but the 200 or so raw images it can capture lasts me about 3 to 4 days of casual shooting. 16gig would be nice but I just don't trust that the card will not fail on me even though it has never happened. I have an 8 gig, three 2gig, and one 4gig. I like using the smaller cards often because it forces me to not rely on burst mode so much to get the shot I want. Remember the old film days? 24 shots is what you got before you had to change rolls and switching cf cards is not even close to as time consuming as film. I dunno maybe we just been so spoiled with all these huge cards out now, makes for luxury and lazy. Heck I might as well go out and buy a 32gig card and never have to worry about switching cards while I am shooting!

Your probablity for failure increases with each card you have. 1 card with 16GB photos has LESS of a probability for failure than 4x4GB cards.

Mathematics will prove this.

Wow, excellent work people. Beautiful colors, Stefano. Keep up the good work amigo.

Chucar: Is that an HDR merge? Or did you use some Photoshop plug-in's to create that glowing effect? The two shots seem very majestic.

Yeah it would. I've never had that happen, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. I mostly bought that card on price. It was the same price as an 8gb card I was looking at.

Ain't nothin but a thing.

No it's not an HDR. I played with settings in Lightroom until I was satisfied with the result.
