Fantastic Stefano!

You know you're the reason I pop into this thread everyday, hoping to see some more incredible images from you. I don't even own a 50D or a 17-40 lens but I check both threads just to see if you've posted something. Keep up the amazing work!!!

Thank you Jdlloyd you're too good :D

I'm quite interested in this camera, but I've read of softness issues with lower end lenses. Right now i've only got a few budget lenses. 18-55 IS Kit, 55-250 IS and Nifty Fifty.

Will I really have a lot of problems using my budget lenses? (Or even with said problems is it a worthy upgrade from the XS?)

I've not heard of 'softness' issues, but according to dpreview.com reviews, pretty much any EOS from the XSi/450D (12mp, 2008) and after really requires high quality optics to keep up with the camera body's resolving power. So while the 18-55mm IS was given a good review by them and its a fantastic price for its quality level - you will indeed get higher optic quality using better lenses. I recall a fellow taking two shots of the same car with the 18-55mm and 15-85mm and the 15-85mm had nicer and sharper colours out of the camera. Just offering the above for your consideration. I got the 15-85mm for the expanded focal length 'and' higher optic quality - a yr after getting the 18-55mm...

Anyways - go to a store and hold the 50D and 7D and Rebel T2i in your hands and see what feels best. Happy shopping. Then make some 5x7 prints and you be the judge if you are pleased with the 18-55mm, etc.

Nice work PingedSole. 2 and 6 are my favorite. Keep up the good work. On number 2, I really like the soft candid feel. The overall lack of saturation and the bokeh mountains in the background excite me.

On 6, the colors and textures grabbed me first. But as you look more you can see just a speck of ocean in the distance, yet the boat is turned over so far from sea. It's good composition in my opinion, and I love the style.

Edit: Is that blue in the distance water, or something else? Now I'm confused...

So im still playing with this split tone technique and really liking the outcome. Im not sure about the vertical boarders though, what do you think? Get rid of them, a different crop, leave them, you tell me.

Its actually the hills in the distance. The pic is a close up of the last boat from shot 7 where you can see more.

Thanks for the kind words. There is hope yet.:)
