Im not sure about the vertical boarders though, what do you think? Get rid of them, a different crop, leave them, you tell me. I like that. BoKo

astrobrian Member 221 posts Joined Mar 2010 Location: Austin Texas More info | Trying this one again in case my first post got lost in the shuffle. Does anyone have any idea as to what would cause my cameras, when shooting RAW+jpg, to end up having both images the same file size, that of the jpeg? The other camera is a 450D and is doing the same thing. RAW and L modes separately are working fine but when running it in RAW+L it almost seems to duplicate the jpegs http://papkephotography.com/

The other camera is a 450D and is doing the same thing. RAW and L modes separately are working fine but when running it in RAW+L it almost seems to duplicate the jpegs I tried clearing settings, choosing standard rather than user defined, killed the noise reduction customer function settings, and tried Tv Av and M modes. Read the RAW section of the manual and nothing in there states any setting that might reduce or disallow RAW pics in that mode. Is there maybe something in EOS utility that could have caused this? Or cure it? Thanks ahead of time Brian

I have never used RAW+jpg either. This makes no sense to me at all and I have always wondered what the Canon guys were thinking. That said, when I get home - sometime tomorrow - I'll grab my camera, try it and will post my findings. Fair enough? Thank you, I was doing it more for the having the jpg for just having, but also having a RAW for any that I wanted to do further editing with. I had an Xt that did things correct on this setting hence my confusion. Thank you for trying to help me sort it out. http://papkephotography.com/
