Something about that orangutan reminds me of John Lithgow?

Patiently waiting for my 50d to arrive. Should be here friday. Granted it is not my primary body. I am still excited to have a smaller back-up/second/general purpose camera to go with my 1d3.

Sent you the tracking #. Estimated time is Friday, Oct. 1.

Please tell me your opinion on this one. This was my frist portrait a few months ago.
The model is my gf and I tried to give her a middle east look.
Thank you

there could be some lighting in front because we can't see her eyes and the shadows beneath her cheeks are quite strong.

but for the rest, I can't complain. i mean... focus is good, composition too... and the black background really works on this cool "middle-east" theme.

nice shot

Hi Thanks Guys,

to take these for the wide one i used a soft box left with a canon 430 EX II in it powered at 1/32 of a second, my softbox is small only 45x45 cm but for this case it was just nice, the quick light fall off was intentional as I wanted the focus to be the asahi beer and not just have the whole table lit.
I added to get the beer to glow and make the head white I added a canon 430 EX II with a Honl grid straight from above slightly to the front.

Iso 100 F 2.8

shutter was at 1/30 to ensure some ambient light and to make sure the flames of the candles were captured.

for the closer shot all i did was move the lights in closer to give them more pop, and in post i brightened up the beer a bit more.

I did not use any reflectors behind the beer as no light came from the front really.

Cool - I really like the blur in the foreground and background
