Great post everyone!

Please advice or comments. Taken pictures of these monsters through glass ( damped/fogged because of the heat inside the terrarium ) , any tips how to get better results.

1600ISO 1/100sec 105mm ( 24-105 L ) f/5.6 no flash because of the glass and handheld because dificult to take a tripod there.

Reminds me of when I went to the atlanta zoo on a rainy day any EVERY critter was inside. I managed to get a good shot of a Kimodo Dragon and printed it out. Don't have the digital file anymore due to a beautiful HDD crash!

Received my 50D today. (Thanks Nathan) I will say its a wonderful camera. Noisy compared to my 1d3 at higher ISO's but that was to be expected. The rear screen is a real treat. All my lenses are tack sharp so far and perform brilliantly on it so no micro focus adjustment needed. Very happy I didn't go with the 7D. For what I needed a second body for, this camera will probably do it all. Super stoked, got a race to shoot tomorrow with it. Can't wait to put it through the paces and do a comparison with my 1d3.

Flash won't affect either function.

Thank you..you mean they will still work if enabled even though I may be using a flash like at a bride in her white dress?

Question about grain with a 50D.

At ISO 400, is it normal to get grain in low lighting? I hoped I'd get zero. I get plenty. As expected, I get more and more grain at higher ISO's. But at 400, I was hoping for no grain at all. And again, I'm referring to low-lighting only. Like indoor stuff without a flash.

In brighter lighting, I'm not seeing grain.

I bought my 50D used. Don't know if this grain is normal or if I bought a messed up 50D.

Example:

A correctly exposed photo at ISO 400 is going to have very minimal noise. However, an underexposed shot is going to look quite noisy. Your shot is underexposed.
