I'm wondering..with some of the fotos in this thread, theres such crispness and sharpness. How is this accomplished? I can't seem to hold my hands steady enough to keep a crisp shot. Is it just an issue of pickint up a tripod?

Your shot looks great. when not using a tripod, consider keeping your arms close to or snug against your body - and use a shuter speed at least 1/160th to minimize blur.

read pro reviews on your lenses and find what its weaknesses are - and how to overcome them - often with a higher aperture at certain focal length for the sharpest shots. For example - I only use f/9 at 300mm on my lens.

Have fun!

I have no problem with this. It's a culture thing. I wouldn't eat a puppy! Do you think animals we eat here in the USA are treated really nice through out their lives and then slaughtered painlessly? I don't think so.

I'm not from the US, but I agree with you. Any meat you eat is an animal that has been killed and who is to know if it was a quick and painless death.

+1. Then again, Chinese people seem to eat everything that has 4 legs, except stools...

Well, there is of course the saying that Cantonese people eat anything with four legs except a table and anything that flys except an aeroplane. I don't think you can really put a rating on something like this, as it was taken on the street. I'm not exactly sure the process in which the dog was killed, so it's a bit hard to say if it's cruel or not.

Cruel or not this practice has been in their culture for centuries. I had witness some of this in the past and it's not for a weak heart. I can only wish that this practice stop not only in china but all of Asian countries.

Just bought the 50D with the 18-200is, I'm about to buy the 70-200f4 IS, does anyone have any samples with this combo? Also i dont know why i cant see alot of the photos peeps put up on this site, mainly from flickr, photobucket type sites, is it because people havent updated their accounts so their photos get deleted...?
Thanks

Gday, I'm at work at the momment but we have a 'special' unblocker program, still at home some of the photos are blocked. Yeah ive seen the 70-200f4 is thread, again only 1/2 the photos come up? and sorta have to filter through to see just photos from this camera and that lens

Sold my 50D to fund a 5D2 two days ago. It had served me very well, now I missed the 6.3FPS already!
Planning to get another XXD later as a backup body when the price drop. :)
