Hey Gang,
I am a Mac user since March-- love Mac now -- but when I click on a email link in Safari my Mac Mail program pops up--- how can I make Gmail my default for this?
Thanks!

I dont think you can. As Gmail is a web page not an application that the computer can start. But I could be wrong!

Mark - after trying to figure this out I think you might be right --- but isn't there a fix for almost everything?

Download and install the GMail notifier (it puts an icon in your menu bar that alerts you to messages in your GMail inbox). Once it's installed, Control/right-click on the icon and choose "Preferences" from the menu. Click on the "GMail" tab and select "Gmail" from the "Compose mail in" drop-down list.

Does your mac mail program allow you to collect mail from any account with pop3?
If so you can access gmail via an email program, all the information you need can be found under "settings" in your gmail account.

Will Thunderbird work through Gmail? That is an easy option if it will.

I use Mac Mail for my GMail and Roadrunner accounts (Roadrunner was a little bit of a pain to get going though). I've used Thunderbird and found it a bit clumsy but powerful - Mac Mail is way easier to use and when Snow Leopard comes out Mac Mail will be much more compatible with Microsoft Exchange! I'll finally be able to just use my MacBook Pro for work

If you install the GMail Notifier (from Google) you can set your preference to respond to emails using GMail.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
