Hard to believe this kid is only 6 years old. I made the Mrs. cry tonight. (and yes, it's overexposed on purpose)

This was shot on studio gray seamless, so I had to nuke it to get it pure white.

Nice work Brian. A lot of the kid shooters are over exposing by a stop or more... looks great to me.

Thanks Frank.

I normally do not care for overexposed shots, but I think they came out pretty good here. It's just something I wanted to try. I overexpsed these by 1 2/3 stops. A scary thing for sure with someone so fair skinned.

had to grab a few filters, it's so white :) it has a cool look to it. he's so focused in the first one, don't upset him for else.

First things first: You get a giant FISH SLAP for cutting off the top of his head.

BUT: Bottle This, Can This, Preserve This by any means possible but do not lose the recipe for creating this look.

This is just sooooooo good!!!

I watched a Photo Vision vid the other day where Brian Killian was over exposing the kid shots... very cool.... much like the shots you have. He had a crazy colorful background but the main lighting was similar.

Has anyone actually done that? Slapped someone with a fish? I would think it would hurt really really badly! lol Depending on the fish... you could probably brake the jaw bone.

Just remember not to use a sword fish...:p

HA!

The crop was intentional. I think it gives it an extra kick. I actually did that in photoshop.

The recipe is pretty dang easy. You just get a bunch of strobes, add in a bunch of reflectors, and overexpose by anywhere between 1-2 stops.

Brian: Those shots are wonderful! His eyes are amazing. Great job! Is he your kid? Or a customers kid?

Ok, I'll hold the fish in reserve but the rest of my comment stands...

Great Work Pal...

Thanks Jay.

So, when are you going to be showing off your work with the new strobes?
