Yeah... I think I have the grip on more than off... so I'd probably go with the one for the grip first.

Soo... if I get the same tripod as Randy, the same Ballhead as Jay, and the same type of plate thingy as Mike, would I still be considered a "copycat"? :p

You'd be considered someone who doesn't want their sh*t hitting the ground at a bad time...! ;)

Looking at the Manfrotto website, the 488RC has 1/4'' screw attachment type and the bottom is 3/8" female thread attachment type.

I thought they all were universal? Looking at the Really Right Stuff website I can't find any info about the mounting and stuff for the L plate.

It might work..... lol... I'm not complaining by a long stretch... and I have yet to try the video features...

I'm still irritated about having to quit using the program I have used for years... (on my Raw files). I know it's time I get with the program and learn to use lightroom... so I better just get over it and figure it out.... lol...

Kristy,
You may want to try the latest release of Bibble for RAW convertion. I've been using it for a little while and find it to be the fastest raw converter, also good for managing work flow.

Many (most?) tripods come with reversable screws...

Or else they use a retractable collar that is a larger outer thread size but the smaller thread size is inside and is exposed if the collar is pushed down (my monopod works this way...)

Can't remember, does the 488RC come with a plate for the camera bottom or not...?
